Job summary St Johns Medical Centre are seeking an enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant on a full time basis. You will assist the GP's and nursing team to deliver safe, high quality primary care services to our patients. Main duties of the job Main Duties Undertaking clinical tasks such as BP, height, weight. NHS health checks ECG's Venepuncture Carry out simple health screenings and observations. Chaperone patients during examinations and procedures. Manage stock levels and order clinical supplies when required. Measure and record blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight and BMI. Carry out ECG recordings. Perform new patient health checks. Undertake wound care and simple dressings following appropriate training. Carry out simple health screenings and observations. Assist with chronic disease monitoring clinics. Chaperone patients during examinations and procedures. Prepare consulting and treatment rooms before and after clinics. Ensure clinical equipment is cleaned, maintained and calibrated in accordance with infection prevention and control policies. Patient Care Provide high standards of compassionate care to patients. Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives. Assist with recall programmes for chronic disease management and screening. Infection Prevention and Health & Safety Adhere to all infection prevention and control policies. Ensure safe disposal of clinical waste and sharps. Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment. Report incidents, accidents or significant events in line with practice procedures. Comply with all health and safety legislation and practice policies. Professional Responsibilities Work within the scope of competence and seek advice when appropriate. Maintain professional registration where applicable. Participate in mandatory training and continuing professional development. Attend practice meetings and contribute to service improvement.
