Clinical Pharmacist

Job summary We have a fantastic opportunity for a pharmacist who is keen to develop their clinical skills to join our team at Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust. You will be a GPhC Registered Pharmacist who is organised, enthusiastic and motivated. You will work closely with nursing staff and prescribers as part of the MDT, as well as our experienced pharmacy technicians, therefore, great communication and interpersonal skills are essential. This would be an ideal role for a community pharmacist looking to change direction. Working in community pharmacy is challenging and so, we know you will have exceptional prioritisation skills. Full training will be provided, and you will shadow another pharmacist as part of your induction. Once trained, you will be working alongside one of our experienced pharmacy technicians. All our medicines are externally sourced; this means there is very little on site dispensing which allows you the time to undertake clinical work to ensure patient safety is maintained. You must be able to travel to and having access to your own car is recommended. All hospital sites have access to free parking. This is a part-time position and the post holder will be covering two of the community hospitals There is no weekend, bank holiday or on call commitment within this role, and in addition, we can offer you 27 days annual leave entitlement at joining, increasing with length of service to a maximum of 33 days, plus 8 bank holidays. Main duties of the job Full training will be given, and you will shadow another Pharmacist as part of your induction, Once trained, you will be work alongside one of our experienced Pharmacy Technicians. To support the delivery of an effective and efficient medicines management service to the Community Hospitals and other clinical teams by working closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team across SCHT. To ensure service compliance with medicines legislation, in particular controlled drugs legislation. To provide input into policy, procedures, audit and research affecting the use of pharmaceuticals at SCHT sites where appropriate. To liaise with our out-sourced pharmacy supply function, to ensure provision of an effective dispensing and supply service. To support the training and development agenda for clinical practitioners and non-medical prescribing practitioners at SCHT where appropriate. To provide holiday or study leave cover for other pharmacists and deputise for them at meetings. To provide clinical supervision of pharmacy technicians.
