Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Paediatric Therapy Service in Powys Teaching Health Board. This post offers a supportive environment to develop specialist skills in paediatric occupational therapy, working collaboratively with children, young people, families, schools, and multi-disciplinary teams across a diverse rural county. The role is designed to provide a strong foundation in paediatric practice, with structured supervision, training, and development opportunities. Following a period of approximately 12-18 months in the paediatric service, there will be opportunities to explore broader rotational experiences within adult occupational therapy services, supporting the development of a well-rounded clinical skill set and long-term career progression within Powys Teaching Health Board. Main duties of the job The post holder will provide assessment, intervention and advice for children and young people with a range of developmental, physical and functional needs across home, education and community settings. Working as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team, they will contribute to delivering person-centred care, develop therapy programmes, support families and education staff, maintain accurate clinical records, and participate in service development, audit and continuing professional development activities. The role offers opportunities to build specialist paediatric occupational therapy skills while contributing to high-quality, evidence-based services across Powys.
