Occupational Therapist

Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our community mental health team The post will allow the successful applicant the opportunity to work collaboratively within an integrated multi-disciplinary team. You will provide specialist assessment, goal-directed intervention and rehabilitation topatients in the setting. The Swansea Bay University Health Board Occupational Therapy Service offers a wealth of experience, diversity and progression. You will be required to work closely with MDT colleagues and contribute to the development of a high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy service. You will need excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills and sound clinical knowledge, but enthusiasm and the potential to develop these within the post will also be valued. As such, you will be provided with a variety of opportunities to develop your leadership, management and clinical skills. Main duties of the job To manage a defined caseload within specialist area, using evidence based /client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the outcomes of intervention where appropriate; hospital, community, patients' homes, schools, outpatient settings and maintaining associated records. To organise this efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time. To ensure clinical records are kept to agreed standards and report accurately to others. To work in partnership with clients, carers and all stake holders including the multidisciplinary/ multi agency team to identify relevant goals. To provide leadership and supervision for junior staff, as delegated by supervisor /Team Leader. To regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements. To participate in CPD and develop skills and knowledge through participation in developmental activities. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
