Job summary As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care by collecting high-quality blood samples from patients across Frimley Park Hospital, as well as local sites including Farnham Hospital and the Aldershot Centre for Health. Working within both inpatient wards and outpatient departments, you will help ensure that accurate and timely blood samples are available for diagnostic testing, enabling clinicians to make effective treatment decisions. You will receive full training and ongoing supervision to develop your skills and confidence in all aspects of phlebotomy, infection control, and patient communication. This role requires professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail to maintain high standards of patient safety and comfort. Main duties of the job The post holder will work as part of the pathology team, under direct supervision, to deliver an efficient and high-quality blood collection service for patients across Frimley Park Hospital and associated sites including Aldershot Centre for Health and Farnham Hospital. The role involves obtaining venous blood samples from inpatients, outpatients, and clinic attendees, ensuring patient comfort and safety while maintaining strict infection control and confidentiality standards. The post holder will contribute to the smooth running of the department by ensuring timely and accurate sample collection, labelling, and delivery to the laboratory. The role requires adherence to hospital and departmental policies, effective communication with patients and staff, and a commitment to professional development.
