Job summary The Department of Anaesthetics provides anaesthetics, pain services, pre-operative preparation and emergency services to Broomfield Hospital as part of the Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust. The Department is part of the Division of Anaesthetics and Theatres and has one Clinical Director and Trust-wide leads in Pre Assessment and Pain. Lists also occur at the Braintree Community Hospital which is a standalone elective, Orthopaedic site. We would be nothing without our staff. There is a strong history of excellence in anaesthetic education at Broomfield and we have links to the School of Medicine at the nearby Anglia Ruskin University including Honorary Senior Lecturers. There are national courses organised under the auspices of ARU by our consultants.
