Job summary An exciting opportunity to join our busy North Wales team based Wrexham as Healthcare Support Workers (Retinal Photographer), directly delivering screening clinics to participants primarily in the area. The ability to travel between sites is essential for this role to transport equipment in Diabetic Eye Screening vehicles. About DESW Our service provides screening to detect early signs of diabetic retinopathy, a complication of diabetes that can lead to vision loss or blindness if left untreated. The screening process involves taking high-quality digital images of the retina (the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye) to identify any damage to the small blood vessels caused by diabetes. To learn more about the work we do, please visit Diabetic Eye Screening Wales - Public Health Wales Main duties of the job Key Responsibilities: Guide participants through screening appointments, ensuring accurate record-keeping. Administer eye drops and accurately check pupil dilation within specified timeframes. Capture high-quality digital images of the retina using specialised cameras. Strictly adhere to DESW protocols and standard operating procedures. Drive the Trust's Light Goods Vehicle to clinic venues primarily across North Wales and occasionally other regions within Wales.
