Job summary Ashington House Surgery is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Phlebotomist to join our busy primary care team for 20 hours per week . This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is already experienced and confident in taking blood samples and who enjoys delivering high-quality patient care in a professional, patient-focused environment. Identify, label and process blood samples accurately. Ensure specimens are handled and transported appropriately. Maintain accurate patient records. Provide reassurance and support to patients during procedures. Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures. Work collaboratively with clinicians, nurses and administrative staff. Maintain equipment and stock levels within the phlebotomy area. About us We are an established, friendly, and supportive training practice in West Swindon with a patient list of 10,000. We have a permanent team of two clinical partner GPs, four salaried GPs, an established nursing team, PCN Pharmacy team, First Contact Physiotherapist. Patient Job Summary: The post holder works under indirect supervision and undertakes task and duties delegated by the partners or a suitably qualified regulated professional. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients and following policy and procedures. To support the practice to ensure compliance with its statutory and regulatory obligations, such as but not limited to the Care Quality Commission and Data Protection Act 2018(GDPR) Job Responsibilities Clinical Undertake, record, and follow guidelines for the tasks for which you have received appropriate training: Venepuncture Blood Pressure Prepare and maintain environments and equipment. Give accurate and appropriate information to patients and groups within own competence. To record all consultations within the clinical system Respond to medical emergencies. Ensure that the principles of Infection Control are always adhered to.
