Job Title: Registered Dietitian Lead Department: Food and Nutrition Services Location: Elder One - Hudson / Hybrid allowed Address: 2066 Hudson Avenue Rochester NY 14617 Hours Per Week: 40 hours Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm SUMMARY: The role is responsible for delivering comprehensive nutritional care to all participants and serving as a consultant to healthcare professionals in determining optimal nutrition strategies. This role provides leadership and guidance to the Nutrition Department, supporting Registered Dietitians to ensure high standards of clinical practice and service delivery. RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership & Team Oversight: Supervise and mentor Registered Dietitians and Food Service Associates; manage scheduling, training, and ensure compliance with departmental standards and procedures. Clinical Nutrition Management: Oversee and perform nutritional assessments, individualized care planning, documentation, and education for participants, supporting clinical goals and interdisciplinary collaboration. Menu & Food Quality Oversight: Partner with vendors to design menus, improve food quality, and implement operational efficiencies that enhance service delivery. Education & Wellness Programs: Develop and present nutrition education for staff and participants; coordinate wellness initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyles. Food Service Operations: Conduct inspections, monitor food quality and satisfaction, and uphold safety and service standards within kitchen and food service environments. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or a related field 5 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service and patient care Certification in a specialized area of nutrition EDUCATION: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light - Clinical - Light clinical roles involve frequent standing and walking, with occasional lifting of light objects (≤20 lbs.) and routine reaching, grasping, and fine manipulation for tasks such as patient care, laboratory work, or specimen processing. Staff rely on strong visual and auditory acuity to accurately observe specimens, read instrumentation, monitor patients, respond to alarms, and communicate effectively with care teams. Cognitive demands include multitasking, prioritizing clinical and laboratory workflows, and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams. Emotional resilience is necessary due to frequent interruptions, shifting priorities, and the need for precise and compassionate interaction with patients and colleagues. Environmental exposures may include infectious materials, biological specimens, cleaning agents, sharps, chemical reagents, and wet surfaces. PPE use, TB testing, and schedule flexibility are commonly required. PAY RANGE: $31.00 - $40.00 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14617 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
