Medical Assistant - Weight Management - Hillcrest - 262005723 Description This is a benefited, full-time position based at Scripps Clinic Hillcrest, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No evenings or weekends are required. The selected candidate may be required to float to other sites as needed to provide coverage. Your Job Duties: Both front office (clerical) and back office (clinical) Medical Assistant job duties Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures & telehealth rooming/prep Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person Collecting patient data in person and by phone Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review Administering medications specifically directed by the physician Scheduling of appointments and procedures Complete and accurate message taking Prioritizes, escalates, and routes messages according to clinical urgency and established workflows Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications Supports clinic operations through administrative coordination, workflow management, and patient service activities Coordinates communication between patients, providers, pharmacies, specialists, and ancillary departments This role is primarily administrative in nature, with a strong emphasis on managing high-volume communications, documentation, scheduling, and coordination activities Qualifications Required Qualifications: Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA) Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: 1 year of experience working as Medical Assistant Experience working as a Medical Assistant in a Weight Management clinic Insurance authorization with prior authorization experience Medication prior authorization Bilingual Job : Clinical Support Primary Location : Central San Diego County-SAN DIEGO-SCF-HILLCREST SURGERY Work Locations : SCF-HILLCREST SURGERY 4060 FOURTH AVENUE SUITE 330 SAN DIEGO 92103 Organization : Scripps Clinic Job Posting : Oct 9, 2026, 9:36:37 PM Benefit Status : FT - FULL-TIME WITH BENEFITS Minimum Rate (USD): 25.95 - Maximum Rate (USD): 32.56 In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Act, Scripps Health posts the pay range for all jobs.
