Prepare clinical rooms, surgical equipment and instruments before procedures. Prepare patients for treatment and provide appropriate support and reassurance. Assist with dental extractions and oral surgery procedures, including procedures under local or general anaesthetic where required. Act as a scrub nurse during surgical procedures where appropriately trained and competent. Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control. Clean, disinfect and sterilise instruments and surgical equipment. Ensure clinical rooms are fully stocked and prepared for each list. Record and maintain accurate patient and clinical documentation. Follow all relevant health and safety, safeguarding and infection-control policies. Dispose of clinical and surgical waste safely and correctly. Provide appropriate post-operative support to patients. Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary dental and surgical team. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
