Registered Nurse/ Paramedic

Job summary This role is offered on a permanent basis . The hours are full time 24 hours per week. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 5 Registered Nurse or AHP / Paramedic to join the team at Dursley Minor Injury & Illness Unit (The Vale) Our ideal candidate will also have recent experience in an MIiU /ED or acute clinical environment and whilst this is desirable it is not essential, if transferable skills can be demonstrated. You will also have a passion and commitment to the care you deliver & hold the patient experience at the heart of your practice and share our organisational values. You will need to be motivated and enthusiastic in your role & looking for an opportunity to join our highly skilled team of Emergency Practitioners who deliver evidence-based clinical care in our Practitioner Led Unit. Informal Visits welcome. Main duties of the job The Vale Hospital has a dedicated minor injury & illness unit (MIiU) open 7 days a week 08:00 - 20:00 hrs for Paediatrics & Adults with Minor Injury & illness presentations. The Band 5 role includes the triage of patients using Manchester Triage and maintaining the safety of patients that are waiting to be assessed whilst working alongside the Emergency Practitioners to deliver care. As a member of the Gloucestershire NHS, the unit offers a diverse range of training opportunities and is committed to personal as well as service development. We also offer the opportunity of training with a preceptor to support the transition induction period and ongoing professional development.
