Medical Assistant - Pediatrics - Jefferson (Oceanside) - 262005794 Description This is a full-time, benefitted position working day shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break. The schedule includes three to four Saturdays per year from 7:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. No evenings are required. The position is located at the Jefferson Clinic in Oceanside. Why join Scripps Health? What you'll do: The ideal candidate will be dependable, self-motivated, and a team player looking to join a group that is committed to delivering exceptional patient care. In this role you will assist the department clinically as a Medical Assistant and support the team with front office responsibilities such as answering phones, scheduling, and call backs when needed. Clinically, you will support our providers by checking patient vitals, rooming patients, stocking patient rooms, assisting with procedures and providing patient education as needed. The MA maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment, and organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice. This includes the following: Checking patients in and out with administrative duties as needed assisting in preparing patients for examination/procedures assisting physicians with procedures relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person collecting patient data in person and by phone and documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review administering medications specifically directed by the physician performing vital sign documentation scheduling of appointments and procedures complete and accurate message taking routing messages to the appropriate area for direction order and referral entry acquisition of pre-certifications and setting up of cases in EPIC basic registration and updating of demographics Qualifications Requirements: Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: One year of experience as an MA in an outpatient setting Primary Care experience Pediatrics experience Job : Clinical Support Primary Location : Northern San Diego County-OCEANSIDE-SCMC 78/Jefferson Work Locations : SCMC 78/Jefferson 2205 Vista Way Oceanside 92054 Organization : Scripps Coastal Medical Center Job Posting : Oct 7, 2026, 7:20:35 AM Benefit Status : FT - FULL-TIME WITH BENEFITS Minimum Rate (USD): 25.95 - Maximum Rate (USD): 32.56 In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Act, Scripps Health posts the pay range for all jobs.
