Job summary Applications are invited for full time Consultant in Oral Surgery. This is a new post that will join a well-established maxillofacial surgical team to provide contemporary management of complex oral surgery patients. Applicants are required to be on the GDC Specialist Register in Oral Surgery and have their CCT in Oral Surgery (or be within six months of obtaining it by the interview date). Experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent is essential. The Oral Maxillofacial Surgery team provide services across Worcestershire at our three hospital sites including Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Alexandra Hospital, Redditch and Kidderminster Treatment Centre. AAC Interview date: 15/10/26 *JD is pending college approval Main duties of the job We are looking to expand existing colleagues activity with a full time Consultant Oral Surgeon post in recognition of the complimentary benefits this will bring to the service. Clinical work will include complex oral surgery, surgical support for orthodontic treatment and head and neck oncology patients. There is a long established working relationship with Worcestershire Community Dental Services and this will be further strengthened by this post. Opportunities will also exist for interested candidates to in areas including clinical management and leadership, governance and postgraduate education and training. The recent opening on a Medical School in the city of Worcester provides exciting opportunities in undergraduate education. A suitably experienced post-holder will be expected to provide a clinical service in the relevant specialty to patients of the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and to General Practitioners. The post-holder will be expected to provide a service to patients of the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, General Practitioners and to attend multi-disciplinary meetings. The successful candidate will be expected to work within multi-disciplinary teams in providing high quality clinical care. It is anticipated work will be undertaken on three sites and closer to the patients home.
