Job summary We are looking for a HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist with relevant experience and training to the deliver specialist 1:1/Group interventions with adult male prisoners at HMP/YOI Norwich prison. This is an exciting opportunity to join a continually developing service, Within the team you will be working with a multidisciplinary team inclusive of Mental Health Nurses, Psychiatrists, Therapists, occupational Therapist, Assistant Practitioners, as well as prison based professionals. Main duties of the job The post is based at HMP Norwich. The role will involve working closely with the Mental Health In Reach team providing a specialist assessment and intervention provision , complimenting the current multi-disciplinary team You will be working with men who may self-harm, have attempted suicide, and/or experience high levels of anxiety or trauma/PTSD. The role includes having an active contribution in reducing self-harm, self destructive and violent behaviour. Clinical : Provision of specialist psychology assessment, formulation, and evidence-based interventions for individuals and groups, referred to the service. Training & Development : Supporting and where appropriate implementing and delivering training to embed psychologically informed practices within the multidisciplinary team, supporting a stepped care model of psychological care. Staff Wellbeing & Resilience : Promote staff wellbeing by leading reflective supervision and post-incident support enhancing resilience and retention in challenging environments. About us The service is currently contracted to NSFT but has gone out for re-tender, so will be managed and delivered by a different provider from the 1st April 2027.
