Job summary Job overview With new and passionate Ultrasound Leads driving service development, we are seeking to recruit a dedicated and experienced Band 7 Sonographer with UK experience and HCPC/NMC or RCT registration to join our friendly and forward-looking team. You must be available to work at either of our Trust sites - Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospital. Main duties of the job Main duties of the job Be responsible for scanning patients and producing independent reports of these scans in line with departmental guidelines; Take an active role in teaching and practical training of student Sonographers, specialist registrars, and others in training; Participate in the management of the ultrasound department and in the audit and clinical governance programs; To communicate with patients, their relatives, and others about the purpose of the examinations and the scan results (in line with departmental guidelines). To develop ones own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others, identifying any training needs to the Lead Sonographer; To plan and prioritise ones own workload and that of the section to ensure the efficient flow of work, keeping waiting times to a minimum and maintaining a high standard of service delivery. As a band 7 sonographer you will be providing a supportive learning environment for trainee sonographers. You will be expected to support participation and leadership of the centrally registered audit and continuous improvement programmes About us The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services.
