Nursing Associate (Adult Community Nursing)

Job summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and competent Nursing Associateto join our Specialist Nursing Bladder and Bowel Team. Working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will deliver high-quality patient care with minimal direct supervision, supporting registered nurses. You will provide both general and specific care for patients, contribute to care planning, and refer to AHPs and other agencies as required. This role will have a specific emphasis on providing clinical support to the Continence Assessment and Treatment Service. You will work independently within defined pathways, protocols and competency frameworks, ensuring safe and effective care at all times. The role also involves supervising, teaching and assessing junior staff. As an Nursing Associate, you will continue to develop your skills, knowledge and competencies in line with patient and service needs. Main duties of the job The Nursing Associate will function at a higher competency level than that of Health Care Support Workers and will actively participate as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, providing a seamless service to patients with minimal supervision from a Registered Practitioner.They will undertake triage, assessment and treatment plans for patients on the Continence Assessment and Treatment pathway.They will provide general and specific care for patients and will be competent to work with professional disciplines, referring patients for Allied Health Professional assessments and treatment and referring to other agencies as required.They will be required to play an integral role in the delivery of safe and high quality care, as delegated by the Registered Practitioner.They will contribute to the planning of care for patients and work in support of qualified nurses, doctors and allied health professionals.They will be expected to work independently, without direct supervision but will seek support and guidance as necessary from nursing, allied health professionals and medical staff.They will adhere at all times to defined pathways of care, competency frameworks and protocolsThey will be expected to provide supervision, teaching and assessment of junior staffThere is an expectation that the role will continue to develop, through the acquisition of further skills, knowledge and competencies, to be determined within the clinical teams, with a focus on patient and service needs.
