Job summary County Durham and Darlington are seeking enthusiastic midwives to join our teams working on our maternity unit at the University Hospital of North Durham or our community midwifery teams. We want you to be here, helping to shape our vision for an outstanding service that gives women and families as well as midwives an extraordinary experience. As a band 6 midwife, you will be given opportunities to work across all areas of the acute maternity services and/or community. We offer PMA support and actively support you to develop and enhance your skills through support from our CPD programme. Main duties of the job As a CDDFT Midwife, you will be committed to delivering safe, family centred care, promoting positive outcomes for mothers and babies, and upholding the standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). You will be responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans which ensure delivery of holistic, evidence-based care which prioritises communication, informed consent and relationship building. You will work closely with our wider multi-disciplinary team of professionals. Some of your duties will be: Assessing and advising on the needs of women, birthing people and families. Providing emotional support during all stages of pregnancy, labour and postnatal care. Planning, delivering and evaluating standards of evidence-based midwifery care.
