Specialist Podiatrist

Job summary We have an exciting opportunity as a Specialist Podiatrist within the Herts Valley Integrated Diabetes Service (HIDS), based in West Hertfordshire. In this role, you will work across HIDS and play a key part in maintaining the integrity of the foot in diabetes, aiming to prevent long-term complications. You will communicate effectively and foster close working relationships with colleagues across partner organisations, external agencies, and services within HCT. You will ensure clear communication with patients, carers, and other health or social care professionals, sharing treatment plans that may involve complex, sensitive, or emotive information and overcoming barriers to understanding where necessary. You will maintain health and safety standards for staff, patients, and visitors, promptly reporting any actual or potential issues Main duties of the job As a Specialist Podiatrist, you will deliver high-quality, patient-focused care by assessing, diagnosing, and developing specialized and complex treatment plans for individuals with diabetes and associated co-morbidities. You will provide expert podiatry care in community clinics and multidisciplinary outpatient settings, while collaborating with patients to create tailored treatment plans that support their health and wellbeing. In addition, you will identify clinical risks and take appropriate action using established reporting structures. You will adhere to policies, procedures, clinical guidelines, and care pathways, ensuring patient records and documentation meet HCPC standards. Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to work across different bases to support HIDS service needs during staff absence or illness.
