Healthcare Assistant

Job summary A Healthcare Assistant is responsible for helping patients with their daily needs while ensuring they are comfortable, safe and treated with dignity and respect. The role involves both direct patient care and supporting the wider health care team. Main duties of the job Assisting patients with personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting. Helping patients with eating, drinking and mobility. Supporting patients with emotional and social needs. Monitoring and recording observations such as temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration and oxygen saturation where trained. Assisting nurses and other healthcare professionals with patient care and clinical procedures. Maintaining accurate patient records and reporting and changes in a patient's condition. Following infection prevention and control procedures. Promoting patient dignity, privacy and independence. Adhering to health and safety policies and safeguarding procedures.
