Job summary Waltham Forest GP Federation (FedNet) provides high-quality primary care services within PCNs in Waltham Forest. The Enhanced Access Service provides an extension to general practice service outside core hours in the evenings and weekends from various community-based primary care hubs, strategically placed across the Waltham Forest Borough to provide equity of access. The service provides patients with access to a GP, Practice Nurse, HCA, and Phlebotomist via a pre-booked appointment as an extension of their surgery outside/inside of normal surgery hours. Main duties of the job The Enhanced Access Primary Care Phlebotomist will work alongside and support the service-based primary health care team, delivering high-quality health care appropriate to the needs of the local population. Ensure as far as possible, that all of the information on the request form is correct and any problems are resolved in a timely manner according to FedNet policies and procedures Ensure that blood sample bottles are accurately labelled Checking and maintaining stock of consumables to ensure the smooth running of the service. Observe and maintain a clean and tidy working environment at all times Be responsible for reading and the action of emails Confidentiality In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately In the performance of the duties outlined in this job description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, FedNet staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have access to information relating to the federation as a business organisation.
