Job summary This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic podiatrist, to join our friendly, supportive Podiatry team in the Eastern locality of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We deliver a high standard of patient-centred care in a range of settings, including community and acute outpatient clinics and inpatient and domiciliary settings. Many of our patients are now high risk, requiring regular podiatry intervention and education, for the prevention and management of foot ulceration and amputation. There will be the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience within the diabetic foot service in this role. More detail about the role The successful candidate will be involved in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with a wide range of clinical needs, as well discharging patients who have completed treatment, or who do not meet the service access criteria. The candidate will also have opportunities to take part in nail surgery, MSK, wound care, education and audit. The candidate will be expected to work flexibly, across multiple sites, to meet the demands of the service. They also need to work as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They should be highly organised, with the ability to work independently and use their initiative to make a positive contribution to their own development and that of the service. A sound understanding of clinical governance and risk management is important, as well as being up to date with national guidelines and current best practice. A degree or diploma in podiatry with current HCPC registration and a local analgesia certificate is a requirement. We are also considering applications for a Band 3 (Annexe 21 pay structure ) developmental post with a potential to undertake a podiatry level 6 Apprenticeship commencing September 2027 The apprenticeship is a three year programme of work based learning that is directly related to the apprenticeship standard. In addition, the apprenticeship has a mandatory 20% off-the-job learning. The University-based Honours degree study is also linked to the Apprenticeship Standard. It is scheduled to commence in September 2027 with interviews to take place in March 2027.
