Job summary Were looking for a Senior Sonographer to join the Imaging team at The Portland Hospital. As part of a leading private healthcare provider, youll be working across two well established outpatient sites on Great Portland Street and Wimpole Street, supporting a service that combines specialist expertise with a strong focus on patient centred care. Working alongside highly skilled multidisciplinary teams, you'll use advanced imaging technology and evidence-based practice to provide outstanding diagnostic services while helping to support the development of colleagues across the department. Main duties of the job What youll do: Perform specialist obstetric and gynaecology ultrasound examinations and produce accurate diagnostic reports. Assess complex findings and communicate sensitive information to patients with empathy, reassurance and professionalism. Support the day to day operation of the sonography service and ensure reports are shared promptly with patients and referring consultants. Supervise, mentor and support sonographers, healthcare assistants, students and junior colleagues. Contribute to clinical governance, audit, quality assurance and continuous service improvement initiatives. As a Senior Sonographer within our Womens Health service, youll play a key role in delivering specialist obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound examinations across a varied and complex patient caseload. Youll work closely with consultants, radiologists and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging and exceptional patient care. Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you'll contribute to education, mentoring and service development, helping to maintain the high standards of care and professionalism that our patients and colleagues expect. What youll bring: BSc in Radiography, Midwifery, Nursing or an equivalent professional qualification. Postgraduate qualification in Obstetric and Gynaecology Ultrasound. HCPC, NMC or equivalent professional registration. Significant experience in obstetric and gynaecology imaging, including complex findings and high probability screening results.
