Job summary Our York Children's Therapy Team provides high-quality, compassionate care across York and Selby for children and young people aged 0-18 with neurodevelopmental conditions. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Physiotherapist to work with a diverse caseload of developmental, neurological, and physical needs. The post is advertised as 18.75 hours and is a permanent position within our team. In this role, you will play a key part in helping children and young people maximise their physical potential and independence. The post may involve working across various settings, including the Child Development Centre at York Hospital, Selby Hospital, community settings, and both mainstream and special schools. You will be joining a friendly, innovative, and supportive Integrated Children's Therapy Team with a strong commitment to personal and professional development. This post will allow you to develop your clinical, organisational and supervisory skills. We offer regular team meetings, an in-service training programme, provide access to regular clinical supervision and have a strong commitment to promoting CPD. You will receive support from the Clinical Lead and experienced Band 6 physiotherapists to help you grow within the role. Main duties of the job You will be responsible for providing Specialist Physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and diagnosis support for patients within the specialty of Children's Neurodevelopmental Physiotherapy. You will work as an autonomous practitioner, holding responsibility for your own caseload of patients with complex physical, psychological & cognitive problems. Take responsibility for delivery of evidence-based, or best practice physiotherapy care relevant to the Paediatric field. You will work closely with other members of the Multi-Disciplinary team and collaborate with colleagues in the management of patients. You will provide support, leadership, specialist advice and tailored training, supervision, and mentorship to less experienced members of staff, students, and apprentices. You will participate and engage in regular clinical and managerial supervision, and undertake education and training in order to develop oneself and others. Contribute to audit and service improvement to evaluate and improve clinical practice. Have an awareness of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) and statutory duties in relation to this area. Candidates must be able to communicate information clearly, concisely, and logically. You should demonstrate how your previous clinical experience meets the requirements of this role, using specific examples from your practice.
