Working under the direction of the Nurse Manager and as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, the post-holder will be responsible for performing venepuncture, as requested by the clinical team, to the entitled patient population, supporting the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care. Key Responsibilities Obtaining patient consent for the collection of a blood sample . Perform venepuncture in accordance with local policies and procedures. Maintaining accurate patient records on our clinical systmone. Perform the correct labelling, packaging and storing of samples for transportation to the laboratory. Maintaining an effective liaison with the laboratory staff at the NNUH. Work collaboratively within the wider practice team. Recognise and escalate safeguarding concerns appropriately. Act as a chaperone when required. In addition to the above responsibilities, you may be requested to Participate in audits, meetings and training. Participate in local initiatives/research to enhance service delivery and patient care. Support and participate in shared learning within the practice. Complete opening or closing procedures in line with practice procedure. Maintain stock levels within clinical rooms. Support infection prevention and control procedures. Promote patient wellbeing and proved opportunistic health advice where appropriate. Communication and Teamwork The successful candidate will: Maintain effective communication with patients, carers and colleagues. Build positive working relationships across all departments within the practice. Liaise effectively with GPs, nurses, administrative teams and external organisations. Demonstrate empathy, patience and understanding when dealing with vulnerable patients. Adapt communication styles to meet the needs of individuals, including those with communication difficulties or language barr
