Job summary We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed Specialist Doctor to complement and enhance our experienced, ambitious and friendly team of 9 NHS Consultant Gastroenterologists. This is a full-time substantive position (up to 10PA including on call GI bleed supplement) for a Specialist in Gastroenterology with particular interest in patients with inflammatory bowel disease based at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will be actively encouraged and given the opportunity to develop subspecialty interests to compliment those of the current team. Candidates who wish to work a different/fewer number of programmed activities will be considered for this post, with negotiation on the content of the job plan on an individual basis, but a commitment to a full slot on the on call Rota GI bleed is required. Main duties of the job The post holder will be expected to work as a key member of the Gastroenterology department. The successful applicant will be expected to run an integrated outpatient Gastroenterology service with the existing consultants and the IBD CNS teams. The post is required to re-capture and maintain 18 week and USC pathway performance targets in Gastroenterology as part of our elective recovery plans, as well as supporting the GI bleed service, elective outpatient endoscopy, and 7-day working at the Trust. The post holder will be actively encouraged to develop teaching and academic links with the University of Surrey. About us Royal Surrey is a compassionate and collaborative acute and community Trust.
