Job summary CLEANERS OPPORTUNITIES AT SEACROFT & CHAPEL ALLERTON HOSPITALS Do you want to make a difference to your local community? The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for flexible and reliable individuals to work as facilities technicians at Seacroft Hospital & Chapel Allerton Hospital. You'll play a vital part in helping to keep our patients, visitors, and staff safe, by ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, ensure our patients are well-fed by providing meal services and you'll work closely with all teams on site by supporting the delivery of excellent patient care. Main duties of the job We currently have permanent vacancies, to work on Wards & department areas. Post 1: M-F 1530-2130 (30 hrs) - Seacroft Post 2: M-F 1300-1930 (30 hrs) - Seacroft Post 3: M-F 1600-1900 (15hrs) Seacroft Post 4: M-F 0730-1100 (17.5hrs) - Chapel Allerton Post 5: M-F 1200-1830 (30 hrs) - Chapel Allerton Post 6: M-F 1445-1930 (23.75hrs) - Chapel Allerton Post 7: S&S 1545-1930 (7.5hrs) Chapel Allerton Successful applicants will be invited to an interview assessment centre held on Friday 23rd October. The assessment centre will consist of an interview with set questions for the candidates around activities such as cleaning, ward food service, task prioritisation, infection prevention. Details of which may be taken from the attached job description. There will also be a short interactive test where the candidate is asked to take part in a mock patient interaction relating to something likely to be within the role expectation such as asking for directions, or having to complete the meal food order. A full enhanced DBS check will be required for all roles. Details Date posted 29 September 2026 Pay scheme Agenda for change Band Band 2 Salary £25,272 a year Contract Permanent Working pattern Part-time Reference number 002240 Job locations Chapel Allerton Hospital Leeds West Yorkshire LS7 4SA United Kingdom Job description Job responsibilities Why you should join our Team A full job description is attached but key duties include: Cleaning all areas of allocation to the required standards and using the approved and trained techniques Complete the delivery of / support the delivery of the patient meal service Replenishment of consumable items within area of allocation Removal of waste materials and disposal of such in correct waste disposal streams Operation of any cleaning equipment trained to facilitate allocated duties (ie regen oven, vacuum, floor cleaning equipment) Able to record all information required as part of the completion of duties Attend training sessions required to allow the completion of allocated duties What you will bring to the role The roles will provide cleaning duties (dusting, mopping, cleaning toilets, sinks, patient beds etc) within either wards, departments or public areas, dependant on which role the successful candidates are appointed into. Within ward areas the role is also required to complete full catering services to Patients (after training has been given). - Ensuring the environment is cleaned to the highest standards. - Catering duties involve a caring, Patient centred approach to meal & beverage services. - There will be an expectation to complete ad-hoc duties when required. Portering role will provide site support in moving stock, stores and equipment as well as patients. Post, medical gas & linen delivery. Waste handling and removal.
