Phlebotomist

Job summary Cromer Group Practice is looking to welcome an experienced and qualified phlebotomist into our busy practice, to support our nursing team. This role is offered on a full-time basis of 37.5 hours per week, with the working pattern negotiable. Working under the direction of the lead nurse and as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team. Main duties of the job Working strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols to assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care; Collecting samples of blood in accordance with training and procedures, ensuring correct storage, labelling, recording and efficient dispatching of samples; Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible, and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample; Checking patient identification against GP or nurse request, and confirming with the patient whenever possible; Ensuring that anomalies are reported to a senior member of staff; Notifying the GP of any significant patient issues; Liaising with and assisting members of the administrative team.
