Locum Consultant Plastic Surgeon

Job summary The Directorate of Plastic and Breast Surgery at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit a Whole-time Locum Consultant Plastic Surgeon for a fixed term period of 12 months. Please note that the interview will take place on Tuesday 13th October via MS Teams. We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers. Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues. Main duties of the job The appointee will, together with Consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive plastic surgery service. The post holder will have specific responsibility for the delivery of general plastic surgery, reflecting the current and anticipated demand within the service. Applicants should therefore be able to demonstrate appropriate experience, skills and interest in managing a broad range of plastic surgery patients. The postholder will undertake outpatient clinics, MOPs lists and theatre sessions, providing care for general plastic surgery patients. This will include the assessment, diagnosis and management of patients presenting with a broad range of general plastic surgical conditions, including skin cancer, with the expectation that the postholder will contribute flexibly to the areas of greatest service demand.
