HMP Five Wells has a capacity of 1800 males. HMP Five Wells is a GPHC Registered Pharmacy, the prison has its own pharmacy on site with 7 administration points based on each house block and will be working as part of a large pharmacy team of 14. As a Pharmacist, you will act as an Independent Prescriber, delivering patient-centred, evidence-based care to optimise medicines, improve clinical outcomes, and support the safe and effective use of medications. Experience in conducting Structured Medication Reviews (SMRs) is desirable. Hours: 24 hours per week Wed, Thur and Friday 8am - 4pm This position is parttime, youll receive an annual salary between £34,428 - £38,636 per annum - depending on experience. Main duties of the job As a Clinical Pharmacist , your responsibilities will vary. You will Work alongside one other Pharmacist to provide expert clinical advice on medicines and poly-pharmacy in line with expected standards, ensuring that safe, modern, medicines management and medicines optimisation service are provided Deliver an integrated, safe, legal and high quality prison pharmacy service, which will be part of a comprehensive healthcare package based on the prison population needs. Inspire positive and aspirational leadership to the team of pharmacy technicians and the wider healthcare team in order to create and maintain a good working environment and facilitate staff retention. Promote good practice in all prescribing decisions to develop and implement improved medicines management understanding throughout the prison healthcare team. Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines management, medicines optimisation, medicines legislation and general health education so that patients and the healthcare teams are appropriately informed. Qualifications required GPhC registered Pharmacist Ideally you are an Independent Prescriber Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy including pre-registration training Experience developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
