Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre has recently joined Active Neuro, the specialist neurological rehabilitation division of Active Care Group, and we are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our well-established multidisciplinary team on a part-time, fixed-term basis. Our 52-bed Level 1 and Level 2 inpatient rehabilitation service provides specialist treatment and care for adults with complex physical and cognitive impairments, challenging behaviours and neuropsychiatric disorders resulting from brain injury. Main duties of the job This is a 22.5 hour per week, 12-month fixed-term role, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your specialist skills within a dedicated neurorehabilitation setting. You will manage a clinical caseload, providing assessment and intervention for patients with complex communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing difficulties, while working closely with the wider MDT to support meaningful rehabilitation goals and positive outcomes. You will work collaboratively with patients, families and colleagues, providing specialist advice and guidance and ensuring Speech and Language Therapy is an integral part of each individual's rehabilitation journey. Completing specialist assessments and developing individualised treatment programmes. Delivering evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy interventions. Supporting patients to achieve meaningful rehabilitation goals and maximise their independence. Contributing to multidisciplinary assessment, goal setting, care planning and reviews. Providing specialist advice and training to colleagues, families and carers where appropriate. Supporting the assessment and management of dysphagia. Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records. Contributing to clinical audit, service development and quality improvement. Supporting students and junior colleagues where appropriate.
