Healthcare Assistant

Job summary The Reynard Surgery is looking for a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join the practice in this vital patient-facing role with both clinical and administrative responsibilities. The role is offered on a part-time basis, for 16 hours per week working across 2 days. Main duties of the job Carry out base-line observations such as pulse, oximetry, temperature, blood pressure and blood glucose levels, recording findings accurately. Wound care, venepuncture, phlebotomy checks and administering of medicines and vaccines. Ensure that all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session. Update patient health records. Ensure that medical supplies are in stock. Act as a chaperone where required. Assist GP during the performance of minor operations. Communicate with patients, relatives, and carers including providing valuable health promotion and education. Red Lodge is a growing village located between Mildenhall/Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds Suffolk. We cover a large sprawling catchment area of local villages.
