Specialty Doctor in Dermatology

Job summary This post will join the team responsible for the provision of all Dermatology services to the Local Health Board in Cwm Taf Morgannwg. The post will be required to support the delivery of Dermatology services for the local population and in doing so foster excellent working relationships within and outside the specialist area, including medical, nursing, secretarial and support staff, General Practitioners and Management Teams. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be one of a number of Specialty Doctors who will be supported by a team of consultants, junior doctors, and Nursing team. The role will cover all aspects of Dermatology services working at middle grade level. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates who wish to gain wider experience in Dermatology specialties in an acute setting. A wide range of general experience is a requirement, and special interests, which complement existing services, will be supported. To be available during the working week so that medical and nursing staff can communicate and consult freely. To contribute with the multi-disciplinary team in the use of referenced, evidence based guidelines, which are dated, signed and reviewed at least bi-annually or more frequently in light of new evidence. You may be expected to make independent clinical decisions, but will receive appropriate training/supervision. Ensure that an appropriate model of care is adopted which recognises the involvement of the multi-disciplinary team, the patient and family. Work with the rest of the clinical team to support the delivery of a high quality service provided by well-trained staff within clear departmental policies and procedures. Develop and maintain good communication with clinical colleagues across the Health Board, regarding the treatment of their patients, and the appropriate use of the departments resources.
