Job summary This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and innovative Dietitian to join the Therapies team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, supporting the development and delivery of a Haematology Cancer Prehabilitation Service. The successful candidate will provide highly specialist nutritional assessment and intervention for patients within haematology, working as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes before treatment. The role combines advanced clinical practice with leadership, service development, education, research and quality improvement activities. There is an opportunity to help shape and influence an innovative cancer prehabilitation service within one of the UK's largest teaching hospitals. You will work alongside expert clinicians across therapies, nursing and medical teams, developing new pathways of care and contributing to service transformation. In addition to a diverse and rewarding clinical caseload, the role offers opportunities to lead projects, undertake audit and research, support workforce development, and influence the future direction of specialist dietetic services. We are looking for an HCPC-registered Dietitian with significant post-registration experience, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a passion for advancing nutritional care for patients with cancer. Main duties of the job The post holder will - Provide a professional nutrition and dietetic service to the haematology cancer prehabilitation service - Be a key member of specialist multidisciplinary teams - Design and implement innovative pathways to optimise patient care - Line manage other Dietitians/Dietetic Assistants - Work closely with professional lead at UHB to continue to develop the dietetic service - Contribute to the training of student Dietitians on clinical placement - Based at QEHB (Employees will be expected to demonstrate a flexible working approach and move across sites as required to deliver care based on organisational and service need). - The postholder will be expected to work 5 out of 7 days, which could include working Saturdays and/or Sundays. You will be expected to work at least one bank holiday throughout the year.
