Senior Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapy (North Liberty) - ( 26005576 ) Description The North Liberty Hospital department of Rehab Therapy is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to specialize in hand therapy. This candidate will administer treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders and/or injuries and evaluate and interpret findings. This position will primarily be assigned to an orthopedic outpatient setting. Provide quality patient care, evaluation, assessment and treatment appropriate for patients with complex or specialized needs. Participate in the development of innovative clinical teaching activities to meet the learning needs of staff and students. Exhibit divisional and/or departmental leadership by: Serve as a clinical resource and maintain high level of clinical productivity. Participate in clinical research and collaborate on special projects. Assist with setting and accomplishing divisional/departmental goals and assists management as necessary. Develop, implement and expand learning opportunities and skills development for staff & students. Assist in establishing new programs, as well as maintaining and developing current programs. Assist in the administration of the departmental Quality Assurance program. Participate in the development of service operations, policies and procedures. Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public. Percent of Time: 100% Schedule: This role requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts within clinic hours (7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday–Friday), which may vary based on staffing needs. Pay Grade: 08 https://hr.uiowa.edu/pay/pay-plans/seiu-pay-plan Benefits Highlights: Regular salaried position located in North Liberty, IA Fringe benefit package including paid vacation; sick leave; health, dental, life and disability insurance options; and generous employer contributions into retirement plans For more information about Why Iowa?, click here Qualifications Required Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy is required 2+ years experience as an Occupational Therapist with a high degree of understanding and skill in hand therapy and outpatient general occupational therapy Demonstrated clinical educational abilities Demonstrated leadership experience in a work or other professional setting Demonstrated ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required Licenses/ Certification: Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required Desirable Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in the rehabilitation of the upper limb with emphasis on the wrist and hand including fabrication of customized splints Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) with the Hand Therapy Certification Commission Ability to practice in an autonomous manner Demonstrated effectiveness in provision of patient care Demonstrated effort to enhance one’s own knowledge, skills and abilities Demonstrated program/service development or quality improvement projects Application Process : In order to be considered, applicants must upload a resume r (under submission relevant materials) that clearly address how they meet the listed required and desired qualifications of this position.
