Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate pan-Powys service supporting women with moderate to severe mental health illness during the perinatal period. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, clinically competent mental health practitioner to join our team. The post holder will work closely with members of the multidisciplinary team and other multiagency professionals across the county to provide evidence-based advice, assessment, care and intervention, for women and their families during the perinatal period. This job offers the chance to work autonomously within a supportive team, where there will be opportunities for personal and professional development, whilst also supporting the ongoing development of the service. Main duties of the job The Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner will work clinically andcollaboratively alongside key professionals to oversee and ensure specialist clinical assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care in the community for pregnant women and birthing parents with Perinatal Mental Health services and their families. Influential in promoting mental health wellbeing, demonstrating enhanced competence in complex, clinical assessment, decision making, and the management of clinical needs. Ensure that demand is met by the most appropriately skilled Clinical Practitioners and to ensure that pathways of care are seamless and according to patient need.Promote a culture based on principles of recovery, choice, and personalised care, in which the mothers and key supports, where agreed, are actively involved in decision-making about their care and treatment. Work in an effective partnership with, the Specialist Perinatal Team Lead, the Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychological Therapies and Midwifery, Children andfamily services thus providing a strong multi-disciplinary leadership model.
