Theatre Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner

Job summary We are looking for Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join our Orthopaedic Team and Anaesthetic Team within the elective theatre department at Hexham General Hospital. Previous theatre experience would be an advantage, however a comprehensive training package is in place for newly qualified staff, or those new to the theatre environment. The successful candidate should be motivated and enthusiastic and committed to delivering safe, high quality care. Main duties of the job Delivering excellent standards of care and providing patient support, advocating on behalf of the dependent patient. Undertaking the role of the orthopaedic scrub or Anaesthetic practitioner, ensuring safe practice is maintained and patients have a positive and safe procedure and delivering high quality care. Working with, and supporting other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Ensuring all equipment is maintained and in working condition.
