Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 5 Community Podiatrist. Whether HCPC-registered or newly qualified, we would welcome your application and offer structured mentorship to support your clinical development. The successful applicant will join our Mid & North Hampshire Team and be supported through the Trust's established Preceptorship Programme. You'll gain experience across specialist areas including Biomechanics, Nail Surgery, At-Risk Foot services, domiciliary care and experience multidisciplinary working. Through peer review, reflective practice and collaborative working, we are committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care. Our experienced clinicians include nationally recognised leaders who actively support staff development. Following training and competency sign-off, you will have opportunities to submit PGDs and request X-rays, helping to deliver timely care for patients with acute conditions. We encourage involvement in audit and service improvement projects as part of your CPD. Main duties of the job -Be responsible for the management of a caseload of moderate and high risk patients, providing a comprehensive assessment of podiatric need, relevant health education & referral to other health care professionals as required. -To assess, diagnose, develop & implement treatment plans for patients with lower limb & foot pathology, where appropriate. -To assess & screen Diabetic patients using the diabetic foot assessment screening tool, ensuring copies issued to appropriate members of the multi-professional team, such as patient's GP & practice nurse. Provide specialised health care advice & treatment based on results of assessment & risk categorization. -Ability to demonstrate well developed dexterity & co-ordination skills within the assessment & treatment process.
