Water Technician

Job summary We are looking for an experienced Water Technician to join our Estates team and play a key role in maintaining a safe, reliable and effective hospital environment. Main duties of the job This is a key role focused on ensuring the safety, compliance and operational effectiveness of the hospital's water systems. Working within a busy healthcare environment, you will play a critical part in maintaining patient safety through effective water hygiene management and Legionella control. As the Water Technician, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, monitoring and compliance of all water systems across the hospital estate. Acting as a designated Competent Person (Water), you will support the Water Safety Group and ensure compliance with legislation, healthcare guidance and best practice. Carrying out water hygiene monitoring, temperature checks, flushing regimes, outlet descaling and disinfection. Managing reactive plumbing repairs and maintenance across the estate. Supporting the Water Safety Plan and Legionella compliance program Assisting with Legionella risk assessments and action management. Maintaining accurate compliance records using CAFM systems. Liaising with specialist contractors and water treatment providers. Participating in the Estates on-call rota.
