Job summary Interview Date: TBC An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated dietitian looking to work within the paediatric dietetic team at Barnsley Hospital. We welcome applications from band 6 Dietitians, or from established band 5 Dietitians who are ready to step up to a more senior level or work in a different area of interest. This permanent post specialises in paediatrics, with a focus on supporting home enteral feeding and promoting nutrition within this area. It also provides the opportunity to work within specialist areas of paediatrics and a range of common childhood health conditions. You will work with local and tertiary centre dietitians and health care teams. You will also be able to develop and take part in staff teaching and training, and maintain your continuous professional development. You will be an integral part of our friendly Dietetic Department and have excellent support from the wider Dietetic team which includes Dietetic Assistant and Assistant Practitioners and a dedicated Administration team. You will have the opportunity to lead student dietitians on their placements and support junior members of your team in their training and development. We are a proactive department where personal continuing development is promoted, therefore attendance on study days is offered in line with identified learning needs. You should be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with good time management skills and a commitment to evidence-based practice. Main duties of the job To provide specialist dietetic advice for patients who may require complex dietetic interventions, and to monitor and adapt their treatment accordingly in an inpatient/outpatient setting. - Work effectively as part of the MDT - To regularly undertake audits and surveys of own practice/dietetic service and may be required to participate in research. - To provide a key role in service development and service changes, including policy development and proposal of new specialist services. - Provide regular supervision for Band 5 dietitians and dietetic assistants About us Barnsley is a place of real warmth and community spirit.
