Job summary We are looking for a dedicated Band 6 Midwife to join the River Team within the Antenatal Clinic at St Thomas' Hospital. At St Thomas', we are one of the pioneering Trusts for caseload midwifery, with well-established teams in place for over 24 years. We continue to work towards improving continuity of care across the community and wider maternity service. We are a friendly and supportive team and would like to welcome midwives with a keen interest in antenatal care. The role involves providing care for both low- and high-risk pregnancies, including routine antenatal appointments and specialist clinics such as Twin Pregnancy, Fetal Blood Sampling, Anti-D and Safeguarding clinics. The post holder will also support the delivery of antenatal classes. Training and support will be provided for specialist areas where required. Working pattern is Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00, with Saturday working up to twice per month. Main duties and responsibilities include: Providing routine antenatal care, assessments and follow-up appointments. Supporting and/or running specialist antenatal clinics, including Fetal Blood Sampling, Anti-D, Twin and Safeguarding clinics. Providing antenatal education and classes to women, birthing people and their families. Identifying and escalating any clinical or safeguarding concerns appropriately. Working closely with obstetricians, specialist midwives, maternity support workers and the wider multidisciplinary team. Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and ensuring care is delivered in line with Trust policies, guidelines and professional standards. Supporting the safe and effective running of the Antenatal Clinic and contributing to a positive patient experience. Participating in audit, service improvement, mandatory training and professional development. Training and support will be provided for specialist clinics and any additional skills required for the role.
