Job summary Are you looking to develop your skills in paediatric dietetics? Join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialist knowledge and skills in paediatrics and to become a key member of both the Dietetic and the wider Children's Therapy Team. In this role, you will develop expertise in paediatric dietetics within a supportive environment. You will manage a wide range of paediatric conditions, including allergies, faltering growth, feeding difficulties, coeliac disease, and enteral feeding, as well as handling an acute inpatient caseload. We currently offer a variety of training programmes for healthcare professionals across the Child Health Directorate. The successful candidate will contribute to these vital learning and development initiatives with the support of our existing team. We emphasise peer support, clinical supervision, and continuing professional development. Our well-established programme facilitates the training of dietetic students on A, B, and C placements. This role requires cross-site travel. Interviews will take place on the 14th of October 2026 Main duties of the job You will have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced dietitians and work within broader multi-professional teams. You will assess, treat, and provide specialist dietetic care for paediatric patients. As an autonomous practitioner, you will manage your own caseload of patients with physical, psychological, and cognitive issues. Additionally, you will provide support, advice, and training to less experienced staff and students. You will act as a resource within the department and Trust, offering information and advice on relevant conditions. It is essential to maintain accurate dietetic records in accordance with Trust guidelines, Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) requirements, and the British Dietetic Association (BDA) standards. Our department works flexibly to meet service needs, supporting both inpatient and outpatient services. This may include work outside core hours and travel to other hospital sites, including Scarborough, Bridlington, Malton, and Selby. The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy. Access to a vehicle that can be used for business purposes and hold a full and valid driving licence (role will involve travel to numerous addresses that cannot be easily accessed by public transport means) is required.
