Job summary We have an exciting opportunity in Critical Care at Royal Papworth Hospital with an excellent team of nurses and healthcare support workers providing expert care to patients and their families. We are looking for resilient, highly motivated and compassionate individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment join our large multi-disciplinary team. You will be involved in providing highly specialised care to critically unwell patients with complex nursing care needs. This includes supporting with transfers, collection of blood products, moving and handling procedures, assisting with extubating and chest drain removal as just a small sample of what is required in this interesting and varied role. To support you in your career development we have a dedicated Critical Care Education team committed to supporting you. You will be expected to complete the Care Certificate if not already in possession supported by the clinical Education team. You will then commence the Critical Care Healthcare support worker competencies including supportive and assistive levels. To support your development in Critical Care you will be given supernumerary support, study days and our dedicated Critical Care Education Senior Healthcare Support worker will be there through every step of your journey with us. Main duties of the job As part of your role, you would be: If you are a well organised, team player and able to deal with ever changing priorities then we would love to hear from you. As part of our team, we would expect you to be able to effectively multitask and ensure all infection control risks were managed effectively. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality patient care which is enhanced through good and clear communication and team working. Whilst you may have experience in a care or hospital setting you may not have completed your Care Certificate, which is essential for this role.
