Job summary Welcome to FCMS! FCMS is commissioned by the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) to provide NHS urgent and emergency dental care services across Lancashire, operating from sites in Blackpool, Morecambe, Blackburn and Burnley. Our service operates 365 days a year, delivering high-quality, patient-centred urgent dental care during evenings, weekends, bank holidays and out-of-hours periods. Hours: 20 hours per week with flexible working Base: Queen Victoria Centre, Morecambe & Newfield House, Blackpool * Please note that our roles are not being considered for sponsorship at this time* *If you are looking for more than 20 hours, the position can be supplemented with additional clinical sessions evenings and weekends* Main duties of the job This is an exciting opportunity for a dental nurse looking for something a little different to a regular dental practice. As a Senior Dental Nurse, you will provide visible leadership and support to the dental team, working closely with the Dental Operations Manager, Clinical Lead, Operational Specialists and Senior Dental Nurses to ensure safe, effective and efficient service delivery. You will be involved with supporting staff performance, clinical governance activity, quality assurance processes and patient experience initiatives, whilst maintaining a strong clinical understanding of urgent dental care. Working within urgent dental care can be fast-paced and unpredictable, so you will be comfortable managing competing priorities, remaining calm under pressure and supporting others through challenging situations. The role includes a clinical nursing element, providing one nursing session every two weeks as part of the contracted hours. This ensures continued understanding of service delivery, patient needs and building of good relationships and support with our team. A caring and compassionate personality is extremely important, confident in speaking to patients, and able to work in a busy and sometimes challenging environment, remain calm under pressure.
