Consultant Colorectal Surgeon

Job summary We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with interests in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, colon cancer and pelvic floor surgery, to assist delivery of the increasing regional workload, including collaboration with other NE Colorectal units. There are potential mentorship and training opportunities for new consultants and considerable flexibility within the department to support the appointment of the very best candidates. An immediate opportunity has arisen for two Colorectal Consultant appointments, one with a specific interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Benign Colorectal Surgery and a second Colorectal Consultant post, for candidates with sub-specialty interests to support planned areas of expansion including: colon cancer, pelvic floor surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction and proctology services. In addition to the challenges of the role, we can offer you a commitment to teaching, education, research and audit.
