Job summary Join Lagans Foundation as a Skilled Childrens Play and Health Care Worker and help make a meaningful difference to children and young people with moderate to complex health and developmental needs. Working across Prestwich and Sale, you will provide high-quality, compassionate and individualised care to children and young people aged 019. You will combine personal care with play-based learning, emotional support and meaningful engagement, helping each child to develop confidence, experience enjoyment and achieve the best possible outcomes. The role has a specific working pattern across Prestwich and Sale, including split shifts during term time, school holiday shifts and a weekend rota, so applicants must be able to commit to the required hours. Main duties of the job As a Skilled Childrens Play and Health Care Worker, you will provide safe, compassionate and child-centred support to children and young people with moderate to complex care needs. You will deliver personal care alongside play-based activities, sensory support, learning opportunities and emotional support, adapting your approach to the individual needs of each child. You will build positive and trusting relationships with children and their families, helping to create care experiences that support wellbeing, development and enjoyment. You will work confidently within individual care plans and risk assessments, administer medication in accordance with your training and relevant procedures, and recognise and escalate any health, safety or safeguarding concerns appropriately. You will maintain accurate and timely care records and provide constructive feedback where changes to care plans or risk assessments may be required. As an experienced member of the care team, you will also support and mentor Band 1 carers, lead by example and contribute to maintaining high standards of care, professionalism and family experience. You will attend required training, supervision and team meetings and work collaboratively with colleagues, families and other professionals involved in the childs care.
