Specialist Biomedical Scientist

Job summary We are seeking a HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist for this exciting role within Haematology and Blood Transfusion at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. The successful candidate will have: HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist Experience of working within a NHS Pathology Laboratory Excellent communication skills A willingness to learn and develop professionally The post is based at Royal Glamorgan Hospital however rotation to Prince Charles Hosptital may be required to support service needs and is encouraged for professional development. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for performing a range of assays that contribute to the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of disease, and will be required to develop and maintain competency in specimen reception, haematology, coagulation and blood transfusion. A 24/7 service is provided for Haematology and Blood Trnsfusion. Therefore the post holder will be expected to fully participate in the out of hours rota once they have completed their departmental training and competency assessment.
