Job summary The Devonshire Lodge Practice has a fantastic opportunity for a phlebotomist to join their team on a part-time with hour range between 16-20 hours. if you are an experienced phlebotomist looking for a new and exciting challenge, then we would love to hear from you. Pay range is depending on your skills such as can do ECG, foot check etc. These are just desires but not essential. Please note that if you are unable to do phlebotomy, please do not send your CV. Main duties of the job The post holder will work under indirect supervision of the lead Practice Nurse and will undertake tasks and duties delegated by the lead Practice Nurse or suitably qualified regulated professional. They will work collaboratively with the General Practice team to meet the needs of the patients, following policy and procedures. The healthcare assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient educaiton. We will not accept online courses Using technical equipment to safely draw blood from patients Explaining the process of drawing blood clearly to a patient Reassuring and calming patients who might be nervous or scared of the procedure Applying dressings to the wound created by drawing blood Registering the blood and storing it in the correct environment Sending blood samples to testing laboratories Keeping track of blood samples and results that are returned after testing Updating patient records Maintaining an organised and clean work area based on health and safety regulations and the guidelines of the medical institution Answering patient questions regarding collection techniques and offering additional resources on the collection process, if the patient requests them Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions Job description Job responsibilities You will need relevant experience, and a qualification in phlebotomy.
