Job summary ROTATIONAL CLINICAL PHARMACIST BAND 6 WITH WEEKEND AND ON-CALL DUTIES (7 DAY WORKING) - FULL TIME, 6 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT Would you like the opportunity of gaining clinical experience as a clinical pharmacist in a supportive learning environment and optimise medicines for patients? As part of our continuing commitment to developing our clinical pharmacy team capability we are offering an opportunity at Band 6 to join our friendly and enthusiastic team. This post provides the opportunity to develop your clinical skills and knowledge. You will be supported through the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Foundation Pharmacy Framework to develop a portfolio of evidence. You will gain invaluable experience in various specialties, being on-call and working in the dispensary. You will also provide clinical services to our Acute Admissions Unit at weekends, which will be worked as part of your contracted hours on a rotational basis. We use the skills of our pharmacy staff, working as a team, to provide a high quality, professional pharmacy service to patients. The service is responsive to the needs of patients and is developing the use of IT to improve patient safety and efficiency. This is a 6-month month fixed term contract to cover a current staff member who will be taking a sabbatical. For further information please contact Roshni Thoppil, Senior Principal Pharmacist on 020 8934 3142 or Kunali Patel, Senior Pharmacist Education & Training on 020 8934 2065 Main duties of the job To provide a Clinical Pharmacy service to designated wards under the supervision of a Senior of Principal Pharmacist, assessing the suitability of prescribed medicines. To participate in the delivery of ward and dispensary based pharmaceutical services and maintain clinical and technical skills. To ensure that medicines, including Controlled Drugs, are stored appropriately on wards and departments, performing stock checks when required.
