Focuses on the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. Examples of duties Under supervision, provide professional nursing care in accordance with established nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures. Provides comprehensive physical assessments for all ages and clinical programs. Participates in drills and exercises on pandemic influenza, mass sheltering, and mass dispensing. Prepare to respond to public health emergencies and respond as directed. Utilize Electronic Medical Record to accurately document patient care and enter billing information for reimbursement. Administer and dispense medications and vaccines based on nursing assessment according to established nurse protocols. Provides health education to individuals, families, and community partners. Incorporate strategies for interacting with persons from diverse backgrounds, e.g. cultural, socioeconomic educational, racial gender, age, ethnic, sexual orientation, professional, religious affiliation, mental and physical capabilities. Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision. Serves as mentor for new nurses and/or preceptors for nursing students. May manage specific program activities and/or specific program evaluations. Assist with completing monthly/quarterly reports. May supervise support staff or employees. Qualifications PH Registered Nurse 1 – Target hire-in salary $59,143.37 Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification. Note: No experience required. PH Registered Nurse 2 – Target hire-in salary $66,351.55 Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associates degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR Certification. PH Registered Nurse 3 – Target hire-in salary $73,677.24 Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of nursing experience AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND Two years of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification. **Salary offered will be based on Education, Experience & Health District Budget** Supplemental information PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications also possess the following: Public Health experience Experience with screenings, immunizations, GRITS and interviewing patients Bilingual Spanish/English Speaking Language Knowledge of state leave policies Knowledge of recruitment process Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
